Singer BoA [SM ENTERTAINMENT]

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of her debut in Japan, BoA will drop remixes of her songs for the next 10 weeks, her agency SM Entertainment said Friday.

The event is called the “Self Cover Project,” and will begin on Monday with a new version of the song “Aggressive” (2008) from her sixth Japanese full-length album “The Face.”

One song will be released each week.

Following this project, BoA will drop a new Japanese album entitled “The Greatest” on May 30.

She will have a concert the day before at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo called “BoA 20th Anniversary Special Live – The Greatest.”

BoA, whose real name is Kwon Bo-ah, debuted in Korea in 2000. She made her debut in Japan in 2002 with the full-length album “Listen to My Heart.” It debuted at No. 1 on the Oricon albums chart and BoA became the first Korean artist to achieve that. She subsequently had a successful career as a solo singer in both Korea and Japan.

Her hit songs in Korea include “Atlantis Princess” (2003), “Hurricane Venus” (2010) and “Only One” (2012).
