Boy band NCT Dream’s upcoming second full-length album “Glitch Mode” surpassed 2,030,000 preorders as of Sunday, according to SM Entertainment on Monday.
This marks NCT Dream’s highest preorder sales ever. NCT Dream’s previous release, its first full-length album “Hot Sauce” (2021), sold 1,710,000.
“Glitch Mode” will feature 11 tracks: the title track of the same name, “Fire Alarm,” “Arcade,” “It’s Yours,” “Teddy Bear,” “Replay,” “Saturday Drip,” “Better Than Gold,” “Drive,” “Never Goodbye” and “Rewind.”
The song “Glitch Mode,” or “Buffering” for its Korean title, is about not knowing how to act in front of a crush, like having a glitch. Member Mark participated in writing the rap portion.
NCT Dream will host a livestream on its YouTube channel at 5 p.m. on Monday to celebrate the release. The album is set to drop at 6 p.m. on the same day.
NCT Dream debuted in 2016 as a subunit of boy band NCT with its song “Chewing Gum.” The group consists of seven members: Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Chenle, Jaemin and Jisung. Mark is Korean-Canadian, Renjun and Chenle are Chinese, and the rest of the members are Korean. The band is best known for hit tracks including “My First and Last” (2017), “Boom” (2019), “Hot Sauce” (2021) and “Hello Future” (2021).
