Girl group Red Velvet’s Seulgi tested positive for Covid-19, SM Entertainment announced Wednesday. Seulgi was fully vaccinated.
“Seulgi is currently quarantined at home and all her schedules have been readjusted. She has no symptoms,” the label said in a statement.
Seulgi is the fourth member of the five-member girl group to have contracted the virus. Red Velvet’s Joy, Irene and Yeri all had contracted the virus and recovered from it early this month ahead of the girls’ concert “2022 The ReVe Festival: Prologue,” which was scheduled for March 19 and 20. The concert has been postponed indefinitely.
After Seulgi tested posted, “Wendy also took the self-test kit, and it turned out negative. We still plan to have her undergo a PCR test,” the label said.
SM Entertainment announced that Red Velvet won’t be able to appear in several music programs like “M Countdown” on March 31 and “Music Bank” on April 1 as Seulgi will still be in quarantine.
Though the girls could not hold a concert, Red Velvet still managed to drop its EP “The ReVe Festival 2022 – Feel My Rhythm” on March 21. According to SM Entertainment, more than 510,000 pre-orders were were made until a day before the EP's release. The album consists of six songs including the title track “Feel My Rhythm.”
