Singer Jung Se-woon released a collection of essays titled, “Cherished and Cherished Words” (translated) on Wednesday, marking his debut as a writer.

According to his label Starship Entertainment, Jung’s essays are for young readers in their 20s that will sympathize with the hopeful but also worried sentiments of 23-year-old Jung. Jung’s new book includes 100 essays, 100 photographs and 100 lyrics of songs selected by Jung that those in his age group can relate to.

Jung said through Starship that he attempted to “express with wit the worries and hopes about yesterday, today and tomorrow with words of sympathy.”

“I tried to look into my own emotions of today and to picture what I will be like tomorrow, while looking back at myself yesterday,” Jung said.

The new release includes a recommendation from popular lyricist Kim Ea-na, who said that she “thought that if I had seen the world through the eyes of Se-woon, I would’ve turned out to be a better person,” adding that the book is like a “little lens” that can peek into Jung’s thoughts.

Singer and songwriter Sunwoo Jung-ah also commented on Jung’s new release saying that his essays were like lyrics that will soon be “wrapped with melodies.”

Jung debuted as a singer in 2017 after appearing on the third season of “K-pop Star” and the second season of “Produce 101.” His debut EP was “Part.1 Ever” and his first regular album “Part. 2 24” was released in January 2021. He has been active participating in creating soundtracks for hit drama series, including “My Wonderous Miracle” for “The Red Sleeve” (2021-22).
