Girl group Alice [IOK COMPANY]

Girl group Elris will be renamed as Alice, its new label IOK Company announced Wednesday.

The girl group had been managed under Hunus Entertainment, but IOK Company said it decided to change the name for the group's new start. It is pronounced the same and only the spelling has been changed, the label said.

The group signed a new contract with IOK Company last December.

Two of its seven members will also change their names for a fresh new start.

Member Yang Hye-sun, whose stage name was Hyeseong, will be changing her legal name to Yang Yeon-je and stage name to Yeonje. Member Bella will be changing her stage name to Do-A.

On Monday, IOK Company released a short video clip titled “The Origin of Alice,” hinting at the name change of the group. The girl group launched a new YouTube channel under the new name.

Alice members are Do-A, Yeonje, Chaejeong, EJ, Karin, Sohee and Yukyung. The girl group debuted in June 2017 with its EP “WE, first.” The group had been on a hiatus for more than two years. The label said Alice will soon drop a new release and embark on a new journey.
