Girl group Kep1er’s music video for its debut song “Wa Da Da” surpassed 100 million views on YouTube on Monday.
The video was uploaded on Jan. 3 and surpassed 3 million views within the first five hours after its release.
The EP “First Impact" which featured “Wa Da Da” as the lead track sold 200,000 copies, setting a record for a K-pop girl group’s first-week sales of a debut album. The record was later broken by girl group Nmixx’s debut EP “Ad Mare” in February.
Kep1er debuted in January after being formed last summer through Mnet’s multinational idol audition show “Girls Planet 999.” The group consists of nine members: Yujin, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Youngeun and Yeseo who are Korean, Xiaoting who is Chinese, Mashiro and Hikaru who are Japanese and Huening Bahiyyih who is Korean-American.
