The Democratic Party (DP) has forced one of its members, Rep. Min Hyung-bae, to leave the party to replace an independent in a six-member subcommittee of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee in the National Assembly. The subcommittee currently has three DP lawmakers, two People Power Party (PPP) lawmakers, and an independent. If Rep. Min replaces the independent in the subcommittee, the DP can submit the revisions aimed at entirely stripping the prosecution of its investigation authority to the Legislation and Judiciary Committee with a 4-2 voting before passing them in a full session of the legislature.
