Trade deficit

Container vessels are parked at the port in Busan on Thursday. Korea reported a trade deficit of $5.2 billion from April 1 through April 20. Korea’s outbound shipments jumped 16.9 percent in the same period from a year earlier to $36.3 billion while imports increased 25.5 percent on year to $41.5 billion, according to tentative data from the Korea Customs Service.
