Hoyeon and NCT's Johnny Suh represent Korea at Met Gala in New York
Model-turned actor Hoyeon and boy band NCT's Johnny represented Korea at "fashion's biggest night out" on Monday.
Hoyeon, originally a fashion model, rocketed to international fame last year through her role as Kang Sae-byeok in the hit Netflix series "Squid Game." She was seen on the red carpet with actor Emma Stone and fashion designer Nicolas Ghesquière.
Johnny of boy band NCT attended the Met Gala on Monday as the only K-pop act at the event.
Johnny, also known as Johnny Suh, showed up to the red carpet with fashion designer Peter Do, who designed the K-pop star’s outfit according to this year’s dress code: Gilded Glamour.
“Johnny” and “Met Gala” became the top two trending keywords on Twitter in 40 nations.
Dubbed “fashion's biggest night out,” the Met Gala is a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, held since 1948. It takes place on the first Monday every May.
Hollywood icons and pop stars Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Megan Thee Stallion, Jeremy Scott, Hailey Bieber, Kylie Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Kim Kardashian, Bella Hadid, Hugh Jackman, Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo were among the big names that also attended Monday’s Met Gala.
