Actor Kwak Do-won tested positive for Covid-19 and was unable to attend the press conference for his upcoming drama series “Never Give Up” (translated), which was held online on Wednesday.

According to ENA, a cable channel owned by KT, which was recently rebranded, the new drama series is a comedy revolving around fried chicken restaurant owner Goo Pil-soo (played by Kwak) who lacks the money to buy his family a home, and young entrepreneur Jeong Seok (played by Yoon Du-jun), who has a great idea but no money to start his own business.

Kwak, however, did briefly join the conference via video call. “I’m feeling a lot better now but still having a hard time due to complications caused by Covid-19. I’m sorry for not being able to attend the press conference. All the actors put their best effort into filming this for the past seven months. Please look forward to the new series.”

“Never Give Up” begins airing today at 9 p.m. on ENA.

KT announced last month that it will create over 30 new drama series and 300 entertainment shows over the next three years, investing 500 billion won ($410.4 million) into original production.
