Jeju United came from behind to beat Suwon FC 3-1 on Sunday, stepping up to second place on the K League standings.

At Suwon World Cup Stadium on Sunday, Kim Oh-kyu of Jeju United scored Suwon’s first point with an own goal in the 30th minute.

In the middle of some confusion in front of the Jeju post, Suwon’s Jeong Jae-yong tried a shot from just outside the box and Kim made contact with the ball, attempting to kick it out of the way but actually knocking it into his own goal.

Despite controlling more than half of the possession, it wasn't until deep into the second half that Jeju finally drew level with Joo Min-kyu tying the score in the 72nd minute.

Joo picked up a loose ball after an ineffectual pass from Suwon's Jeong Dong-ho, taking control in front of the goal and sending home the second goal of the game.

The goal marked Joo’s seventh of the season and his second match on the scoreboard. He scored a hat trick on May 8 against Gimcheon Sangmu. Joo currently has the third-most goals in the K League this season, after Stefan Mugosa of Incheon United with nine and Cho Gue-sung with eight.

Kim Ju-gong of Jeju added another just 15 minutes later, with Lee Chang-min finding the back of the net just moments later in the 90th minute.

Jeju had 24 shots, 14 of which were on target, while Suwon only had nine, five of which were on target.

The victory moves Jeju two spots up from last week’s fourth place on the K League table, five points behind top club Ulsan Hyundai.

K League matches continue Tuesday with the midweek fixtures. On Tuesday, the Suwon Samsung Bluewings face Gimcheon Sangmu, while Incheon will take on Daegu FC.
