Wemade signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA) and Verichains, a Vietnamese blockchain company, the Korean game publisher said Wednesday.

VBA is the first government-approved blockchain organization in Vietnam.

The association will carry out blockchain-related projects in the country, including those related to education and research. It is headed by Thanh Nguyen, the founder of Verichains.

Wemade will participate in VBA’s new projects. Details have not been decided yet, but it will include "a range of diverse projects related to both blockchain and games," according to a Wemade spokesperson.

Wemade is best known for its Mir online game franchise and the Wemix cryptocurrency. Players of the Mir 4 massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (Mmorpg) outside of Korea can make money by trading game items and characters using the company’s blockchain technology.

“Global collaboration is key to new and innovative technologies,” said Nguyen in a press release. “The partnership between Wemade, VBA and Verichains will allow the developers and entrepreneurs in Vietnam to work together.”
