With many divided over rumors that BTS's V and Blackpink's Jennie are in a romantic relationship, a group of BTS’s fans, known as ARMY, posted a statement on an online community called “BTS Gallery” on Tuesday, showing support for the alleged new couple.

“Many of [BTS’s] long-time fans have shared the opinion that we respect and support each member of BTS’s romantic relationships. After the recent dating rumor [between V and Jennie], many fans have been showing support. Therefore, I would like to announce that we are publishing this statement by collecting the majority of the fans’ opinions,” the statement reads.

“When V followed Jennie’s Instagram last year, it was big news among fans. Even back then, the fans wanted to quietly watch his actions and support whatever he does,” the statement continued. “V longs for an ordinary life of Kim Tae-hyung, like any young man in his 20s, but at the same time, he has worked hard to help BTS be the band it is today.”

The statement emphasized multiple times how the fans are in support of V and Jennie’s romantic relationship and that they pray for his happiness.

However, some netizens claimed that the statement is not “official,” despite its title, as it’s not posted on ARMY’s official fan page but on a fan blog.

On Sunday, rumors about V and Jennie surfaced as a photograph of a couple that resembled the two celebrities inside a car in Jeju began spreading online. Some fans were quick to point out that the photograph may have been photoshopped.
