Crime action film “The Roundup” topped the Korean box office for the second weekend in a row, according to the Korea Box Office Information System (Kobis) on Monday.

“The Roundup” garnered approximately 1.79 million moviegoers between May 27 and 29, keeping its No. 1 spot.

The film has sold over 6.54 million tickets since it hit local theaters on May 18, the largest number of tickets sold for a film released in Korea this year.

The film stars actor Ma Dong-seok, also known as Don Lee, as the villain-tackling police officer Ma Seok-do. Ma also starred in “The Outlaws” (2017), the prequel to “The Roundup,” while actor Son Suk-ku plays the role of a new villain, a serial killer named Kang Hae-sang.
