Actor Kim Sae-ron, who is undergoing police investigation for driving under the influence on May 18, said that she will “take full responsibility until the end,” according to a statement released by her agency Gold Medalist on Tuesday.

“Kim diligently underwent police investigation for the last four days due to her alleged drunk driving and the following accidents, and her blood alcohol level came out to be an estimated 0.2 percent, which is high enough to have her license evoked.”

“Kim is deeply regretting her evident wrongdoings,” the agency continued. “[Talks on] the compensation for the accident are ongoing and she’ll do her best until the end to take full responsibility for the damages she caused.”

On the morning of May 18, Kim was reported to have damaged more than three lampposts and several guard rails while driving under the influence in Cheongdam-dong of Gangnam District, southern Seoul. The car also crashed into an electric transformer, cutting off electricity to nearby cafes. The police caught Kim after receiving multiple reports of a vehicle “swaying precariously.” A couple days after the incident, Kim posted a handwritten apology on her Instagram account, admitting to wild drunk driving.

According to the Road Traffic Act, persons tested with blood alcohol levels higher than 0.2 percent may receive a fine ranging from 10 million won ($7,800) to 20 million won or a prison sentence between two and five years.

The 22-year-old actor dropped out of the upcoming SBS drama series “Trolley.” Another Netflix Korea series, “Hunting Dogs,” for which the actor has finished filming, is still deliberating on whether it should edit her scenes out and adjust the release date.
