[VIDEO] Koreans' love-hate relationship with Samsung

If the United States has Apple and Amazon, Britain has Shell and BP and Japan has Toyota, there's one company that flies the flag for Korea more than any other: Samsung Electronics.

For many Koreans, Samsung brings up more complex, mixed emotions that have resulted in a love-hate relationship with the country’s largest company.

If you look at comments about the company and its leader Lee Jae-yong online, there's a volatile mixture of all-out support and harsh criticism.

One recent example is a YouTube video showing Lee welcoming U.S. President Joe Biden while the U.S. leader was in Korea in May.

Plenty of the comments are positive, but he is also slammed for breaking the law or acting like he is above it.

What caused the complex relationship?
