The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced Thursday morning that the Jamsu Bridge, which connects the Yongsan and Seocho Districts, will be closed from 9 a.m. due to the high water level of the Han River following heavy rainfall yesterday.
The city first considered restricting pedestrian access as the water level of the Han River reached 5.5 meters (18 feet) at 7:35 a.m., the limit for pedestrian use of the bridge.
As the water level continued to rise and reached 6.2 meters, the metropolitan government decided to stop traffic from 9 a.m.
