Korea's travel bans on seven countries including Ukraine will be extended for another six months until the end of January next year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Monday.

The seven countries with travel bans imposed on them are Ukraine, Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria and Libya. Additionally, some parts of the Philippines, Russia and Belarus have also been designated as travel-banned areas.

“We have determined that the situation in these countries and regions are unstable security-wise and that the risk of terrorism is likely to persist for a considerable period of time,” the ministry explained in its statement.
