Mark of boy band NCT and subunit NCT Dream tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday, according to SM Entertainment the same day, resulting in Mark's exclusion from seven-member NCT Dream’s upcoming concert from July 29 to 31.
According to SM Entertainment, Mark felt a change in his physical condition Monday morning and underwent a rapid antigen test, which came back positive. Mark has received three doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Mark has halted all his activities and is currently recovering in self-isolation.
The agency added that the upcoming “The Dream Show2 – In A Dream,” set to take place in southern Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome from July 29 to 31, will go on as planned, without Mark.
NCT Dream, one of four subunits of NCT, debuted in 2016 with the single “Chewing Gum,” which was released in both Korean and Chinese. The other subunits are NCT U, NCT 127 and WayV.
NCT Dream has seven members: Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung.
In late May, the band released “Beatbox,” a repackaged version of its second full-length album “Glitch Mode” (2022). Combined, the two albums sold over 3.6 million copies, a record for the band.
