In hot pursuit

Apache, Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters take off for tactical maneuvers in Icheon, Gyeonggi on Monday in the largest air exercises held by the Korean Army in two years. A total of 34 helicopters were deployed for the drills, which took place in both Icheon and Yangpyeong, located southeast and east of Seoul. Pilots practiced evasive moves and sharp descents to avoid potential attacks as they carried out a hypothetical mission to capture a target facility controlled by enemy forces. Apaches leading the formation practiced infiltrating a designated site to identify and clear potential threats, after which Black Hawks and Chinooks carrying some 200 soldiers and military supplies flew in to fulfill the goal of securing the facility.
