Instagram's NFT posts to be expanded to Korea

Instagram announced Monday that it will allow users to post non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in more than 100 countries around the world, including Korea.

This new feature will first be available to artists and creators and will eventually be expanded to all users.

The NFT publishing feature is one that allows users to share NFTs that they have created or own. The feature started trial operations in the United States in May this year. Instagram explained that the purpose of the feature is to contribute to the economic activity of creators of NFTs and the daily use of metaverse technology.

To share NFTs on Instagram, users have to connect a digital wallet to the app. NFT posts are distinguishable by a glittering effect and are labeled as “digital assets.”

Currently, digital wallets that can be connected to Instagram accounts are Metamask, Rainbow, Trust Wallet, Coinbase and Dapper. Supported blockchains are Ethereum, Polygon and Flow.
