A South Korean F-4E fighter jet crashed during a mission over the Yellow Sea Friday. Both pilots escaped unharmed.

According to the Air Force, the F-4E fighter jet crashed while on a mission around 12:20 p.m. The jet had taken off from a base in Suwon around 11:40 a.m. and was on its return journey.

“There has been no confirmed civilian damage so far,” the Air Force said.

It is investigating the cause of the accident and has formed an accident countermeasure committee chaired by Yoon Byung-ho, deputy chief of staff.
