CJ ENM signs programming deal with NBCUniversal's Peacock

CJ ENM programming will be made available through Peacock via a category named "CJ ENM Picks,” the company said Tuesday.

Peacock, run by a Comcast subsidiary NBCUniversal, is an online streaming service that is popular in North America and Europe. It had 28 million monthly active users during the first quarter of the year.

CJ ENM will provide 18 works, including films, dramas and variety shows, in August and 18 additional works in September. Major works include drama series “Cheese in the Trap” and “Reply 1994.”

The deal is similar to CJ ENM’s agreement with Paramount signed last December, when the Korean company started providing its content on Paramount’s Pluto TV streaming service in a separate category named “K-Content by CJ ENM.”

“We can now present CJ ENM content through major North American platforms such as Pluto TV and Peacock,” said Seo Jang-ho, head of the content business unit at CJ ENM. “We plan to keep on not only creating content for the global market but also paving new global distribution networks.”
