Korea, Australia, Singapore, Thailand to conduct joint study on energy

An international collaboration with Korea, Australia, Singapore and Thailand will conduct a joint study on energies, including solar, wind, hydrogen, nuclear energy and energy storage systems (ESS), the Korean government announced Tuesday.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy unveiled its plan to invest 21.3 billion won ($15.9 million) in studying energy-related industries and policies and developing related technologies over the next three years.

The government will invest 10.8 billion won in research and development (R&D) and 4.2 billion won in the expansion of hydrogen and ESS in the overseas market.

By country, Korea will spend 4.2 billion won on hydrogen and critical minerals in Australia, 1.2 billion won on smart grids in Singapore and 0.9 billion won on bioenergy in Thailand.
