'KCON 2022' heads to Japan in October for next run in Tokyo
After finishing up its three-day run in Los Angeles last week, CJ ENM announced its K-culture festival KCON will head to Japan next, in October.
“KCON 2022 Japan” will be hosted at Ariake Arena in Tokyo from Oct. 14 to 16.
The lineup revealed includes K-pop acts IVE, JO1, Jo Yuri, Kep1er, Kihyun of Monsta X, Le Sserafim, New Jeans, NiziU, Nmixx, Tempest and TNX.
“'KCON 2022 LA' has been a huge success, garnering a total of 7.17 million people on and offline,” Kim Dong-hyun, the head of the convention business department at CJ ENM, said. “We hope to bring this excitement over to Tokyo in the latter half of this year and provide a blueprint to K-culture based on kinship by meeting the fans in person.”
KCON offers concerts and cultural experience booths for fans of K-pop, K-dramas and other K-culture content. Events for 2020 and 2021 were all held online due to Covid-19.
