Guidelines on Korean history education for 2022 — which have just been released by the Ministry of Education of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration after they were set under the left-wing Moon Jae-in administration — were full of historical distortions and biases. For instance, they arbitrarily deleted the phrase “invasion by North Korea” in describing the 1950-53 Korean War and omitted the term “liberal” from “liberal democracy.”
