BTS's RM records audio guide for modern Korean art exhibit at Lacma

BTS member RM recorded the audio guide for a special exhibition of modern Korean art in Los Angeles, according to the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) on Tuesday.

The exhibition which is titled "The Space Between: The Modern in Korean Art" is being held at Los Angeles County Museum of Art (Lacma) in collaboration with the MMCA. It is set to open for public viewings starting Sunday.

RM's audio guide provides commentary on 10 pieces in the exhibition. The recordings are available in Korean and English through audio devices provided by Lacma for visitors to the exhibition, as well as on the official MMCA website.

The exhibition includes some 130 works by 88 artists, all of which were shipped directly from Korea. The works were created during the modern period, from 1897 to 1965.

Some notable artworks in the exhibition include Lee Jung-seob's (1916-1956) "White Ox" (1954), Park Soo-keun's (1914-1965) "Children at Play" (1963) and Kim Whanki's (1913-1974) "Rondo" (1938).

"This exhibition displays a period of tremendous change in Korean art history and shows how artists came to walk on a new creative path through contact and exchange with other cultures,” said Michael Govan, CEO of Lacma, in a press release Tuesday.

"The Space Between: The Modern in Korean Art" runs through Feb. 19.
