A new series by prominent director Jung Ji-woo, best known for romance drama film "Eungyo" (2012), will be released on Netflix next month, according to the streaming platform on Tuesday.

"Somebody" is a crime thriller series about a software developer, portrayed by actor Kang Hae-lim, and her friends who get caught in a web of murders and crimes involving a dating app she built and a mysterious man lurking close by, portrayed by Kim Young-kwang.

The series marks Jung's debut on Netflix. Jung is well known for directing suspenseful films with three-dimensional female roles. She has given rise to now-prominent actors such as Kim Go-eun and Jeon Do-yeon through films "Eungyo" and "Happy End " (1999).

Actor Kang, who will take on the lead role in "Somebody," is a rookie actor who debuted in 2017 through a supporting role in the web drama series "Idol Fever." She has starred as an actor in season two and three of KBS's dating reality show "Love Naggers" in 2019, and JTBC's drama "Live On" in 2020.

"Somebody" will be released on Netflix on Nov. 18. It is set to be an 8-part episode.
