Korea's GDP up 3.1% on year in third quarter, up 0.3% on quarter
Korea’s GDP grew by 3.1 percent in the third quarter on year, faster than the previous quarter's 2.9 percent growth, according to the Bank of Korea Thursday.
Imports rose 7.7 percent in the July-September period from the year earlier period, while exports increased 4.6 percent.
Private spending was up 5.9 percent, and government spending 2.4 percent in the same period.
From the previous quarter, Korea’s GDP grew 0.3 percent.
