Hyundai Mobis established two manufacturing-dedicated subsidiaries, the auto parts maker said Monday.

The parent company will focus on the development of new technologies and new businesses.

One new subsidiary is named Motras and will be in charge of producing modules. The name of the company is a combination of the words module and transform.

The other, Unitus, will be responsible for producing key components such as airbags and lamps.

They will be 100 percent owned by Mobis.

“This is our attempt to maximize efficiency by splitting the business strategic sector from the production sector,” Hyundai Mobis said in a statement. “Through this, we will form an agile management environment and will be taking preemptive steps in the fast-changing mobility paradigm.”
