Historical drama film 'Harbin' set to begin filming from Sunday

The casting for historical drama film “Harbin” has been completed and filming will begin from Sunday, according to distributor CJ ENM and production studio Hive Media Corp on Thursday.
 
The film, set in the early 1900s, will tell the story of activists of the Korean independence movement who were fighting against Japanese colonial rule (1910-1945) in Harbin, China.
 
Director Woo Min-ho behind films “Inside Men” (2015), “The Drug King” (2018) and “The Man Standing Next” (2020) will helm the film.
 
Hyun Bin, Park Jeong-min, Jo Woo-jin and Jeon Yeo-been have been cast as activists.
 
Hyun Bin is to lead the series as Ahn Jung-geun (1879-1910), who assassinated Hirobumi Ito, the first Japanese resident-general of Korea, at a railway station in Harbin, China, in 1909. Park, Jo and Jeon will portray a both real and fictional activists named Woo Deok-soon, Kim Sang-hyeon and Gong Bu-in who fight for the nation’s independence alongside Ahn.
 
You Chea-myung portrays Choi Jae-hyung, a character who helps Ahn. Kim Hoon will play a Japanese soldier named Datsuo Mori. 
 
According to local media reports Thursday, Lee Dong-wook will also star in the film, although it has not been revealed which role he had been cast in.
