North Korea fired a short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) toward the East Sea Thursday morning.

According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), the North fired a single SRBM at 10:48 a.m.

The JCS said the missile was fired from Wonsan in Kangwon.

The missile flew about 240 kilometers (149 miles), peaking at an altitude of 47 kilometers and reaching a top speed of Mach 4, according to the JCS.

The SRBM launch comes eight days after North Korea fired a single SRBM from Sukchon, South Pyongan.

If also follows North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui’s warning Thursday morning that Pyongyang will take aggressive military actions if the United States continues with its deterrence campaign with South Korea and Japan, which was agreed upon earlier this week when the heads of the three countries met in Cambodia.
