The Hanwha Eagles on Tuesday re-signed free agent pitcher Jang Si-hwan on a three-year deal worth 930 million won ($690,000).

Jang will earn 630 million won in annual salary with a 150-million-won signing bonus and 150 million won in incentives.

Jang started his career with the now-defunct Hyundai Unicorns in 2007, appearing in three games before moving, along with most of the rest of the club’s staff, to the newly-established Woori Heroes in 2008.

He stayed with the Heroes, now known as the Kiwoom Heroes, through its time as the Seoul Heroes and the Nexen Heroes, moving to the KT Wiz in 2015. After two years with the Wiz, Jang joined the Lotte Giants in 2017 and spent three years in Busan before joining the Eagles in 2020.

Jang appeared in 64 games during the 2022 season and recorded a 4.38 ERA with five losses, 14 saves and nine holds. He has a career 5.41 ERA.

“Jang is a very experienced pitcher and a crucial part of our team," the Eagles said in a statement.

Jang is the first player to re-sign with their existing club during this year’s free agent market. He is one of two players to sign with the Eagles on Tuesday alongside infielder Chae Eun-seong, who signed a six-year, 9 billion won deal.
