KT signed a business agreement with Zoom, a San Jose, California-based virtual meeting service company, to introduce business-to-business (B2B) digital services targeting local corporate clients.

With the signing of the deal, Korean companies will be able to use Zoom Meeting service through KT starting as early as this year.

KT is planning to introduce Zoom Phone, a cloud-based telecom service for corporate customers.

By connecting phone numbers provided by KT with Zoom Meeting, customers will be able to have virtual meetings and regular or group phone calls through the Zoom Phone service without hardware replacement or installment.

Zoom Phone users will also be able to use telecom services abroad without roaming services, explained KT.

KT hopes to upgrade its collaborative service for business, which is a digital service for cooperative work among employees, by incorporating Zoom Meeting into the digital service package.

KT’s goal is to strengthen its B2B digital service portfolio amid the digital transformation accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We will be able to come up with more innovative products through the digital transformation of B2B telecom services in collaboration with Zoom, the iconic Silicon Valley company,” said Min Hye-byeong, head of KT’s enterprise digital transformation service division.

“We will continue to offer new B2B solutions for mid-sized and large companies interested in global services.
