An array of K-pop stars, from Super Junior, BTS and NCT 127, will be highlighted in upcoming Disney+ originals next year, as was revealed at the Asia Pacific (APAC) Disney Content showcase held in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, on Wednesday.

The most-anticipated K-pop productions are likely two documentaries scheduled about BTS — “BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star” and tentatively titled “J-Hope Solo Documentary.” The two projects are part of a global content collaboration between The Walt Disney Company APAC and HYBE that was announced in July this year to produce and exclusively distribute five HYBE productions on Disney+.

“BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star” is reported to show the coming-of-age story of the megahit band from its debut in 2013 up until its success today. “J-Hope Solo Documentary” offers a behind-the-scenes look at the artist’s solo experience process. J-Hope was the first member from BTS to release solo album “Jack In The Box” in July.

In “Super Junior: The Last Man Standing,” the documentary gives a behind-the-scenes insight into the boy band and wider K-pop industry. Super Junior, since its debut in 2005, has been dubbed the “King of Hallyu” due to the group’s massive popularity across Southeast Asia.

Lastly, a documentary tentatively titled “NCT 127: The Lost Boys” filmed the band’s 2022 world tour across Japan, Southeast Asia and the United States. NCT 127 debuted in 2016 as one of NCT’s subunit groups.
