From Dec. 2 to 11: Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas has invited Sawada Kazumi, a master Japanese gourmet chef, to showcase the taste of a master chef at Japanese fine dining restaurant Hakone.

Chef Sawada is a Michelin-starred chef specializing in Japanese Kyoto cuisine that emphasizes the inherent flavors and essence of ingredients and boasts a global reputation that extends far beyond Asia. He prepares kaiseki course meals with natural and seasonal ingredients such as live wild fish delivered every morning and abalone for this special dinner.

The 11-course Sawada Kazumi Special Dinner showcases chef Sawada’s culinary masterpieces highly acclaimed in Japan such as Yuzu kettle filled with Wando Abalones steamed with miso and beech mushrooms, five different types of special assorted sashimi, charcoal-grilled rosy seabass with fried lotus root, king crab kamameshi and more.

This course menu includes a drink pairing option carefully chosen by InterContinental Parnas' chief sommelier. There are four varieties of wines optimized for Kyoto dishes that emphasize the innate flavors of the ingredients themselves. The Sawada Kazumi Special Dinner is priced at 350,000 ($264), or 500,000 won with the addition of drink pairing.

"We are overjoyed to offer new and unique culinary experiences to our guests with the reopening of national borders that have been closed for a long time due to Covid-19. We hope the Sawada Kazumi Special Dinner provides a valuable holiday dining memory to our customers," said a Parnas Hotel spokesperson.
