The admiral's turtle ship

A more accurate replica of Admiral Yi Sun-sin’s famous turtle battle ship Geobukseon docked at the Korea Naval Academy in Changwon, South Gyeongsang, on Tuesday. Unlike the previous replicas, the latest by the Korean Navy has a flat front head instead of being propped up. It is said to be the closest design to the actual ship used in the battle against the Japanese navy during the Imjin War in the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). The entire process took four years, with design alone taking a year. Ten experts participated in the project, including a history professor. [YONHAP]
