Korea's cargo truckers decide to end strike

The Cargo Truckers Solidarity voted to end their strike Friday.
 
The plenary vote that began at 9 a.m. Friday in 16 locations nationwide showed the majority to be in favor of ending the strike that began on Nov. 24.
 
Of the 26,144 union members of the Cargo Truckers Solidarity, 3,574 or 13.7 percent participated in the vote. A majority of 61.82 percent voted in favor of ending the strike while 37.55 percent were against. 
 
The striking truckers had been demanding a permanent freight charge system and an expansion of the types of cargo that the system covers.
