IU to sing at girl group T-ara member Jiyeon's wedding

Singer IU will be singing at the wedding of Jiyeon of girl group T-ara and baseball star Hwang Jae-gyun on Saturday.

IU’s agency EDAM Entertainment confirmed the news with local media on Friday.

The couple announced back in February that they were set to tie the knot after “dating after meeting each other through acquaintances” last year.

IU and Jiyeon are known to have been close friends after being regular cast members on the SBS variety show “Heroes” (2010-11).

In September, Jiyeon and Hwang were reported to have gone to IU’s concert “The Golden Hour” at the Olympic Main Stadium in Jamsil, southern Seoul.

IU debuted as a singer in 2008. She has released megahits such as “Good Day” (2010), “You & I” (2011), “Palette” (2017) and “Celebrity” (2021), and has also thrived as an actor. Recently, she starred in director Hirokazu Kore-eda’s film “Broker” (2022).
