Line Xenesis signed a business agreement with the developer of location-based game Aglet to release a Japanese version of the game, the Line blockchain subsidiary said Wednesday.

Aglet is a game developed by U.S.-based developer Onlife, where players steps in the real world to earn them digital currency. The currency can only be used within the game where users can purchase real or virtual sneakers from various fashion brands, offering collectors a chance to get limited edition goods.

The game has been downloaded over 4 million times around the world.

Through the deal, Line Xenesis will work with Aglet to launch the game in Japan and attract local fashion brands to join.

Line is a Japanese affiliate of Naver, owned 50-50 with Japanese tech giant SoftBank through Z Holdings.
