Teen survivor of Itaewon crush found dead Monday night

A teenage survivor of the Itaewon crowd crush on Oct. 29 that took 158 lives was found dead late Monday night.
 
At 11:40 p.m. on Monday, a high school student was found dead at a motel in Mapo District, western Seoul, according to the police. The police had found the body after half an hour of searching for the teen following a missing person report by the teen’s mother.
 
In a forensic examination of the scene, the police found no evidence of foul play, nor was a suicide note was found.
 
The teen was reportedly a survivor of the Itaewon crowd crush and had been at the scene of the disaster with friends, sustaining injuries and having been treated at a hospital afterwards.
 
A police official told Yonhap that an autopsy will not be performed according to the wishes of the deceased’s family.
