Jeong Tak, the new CEO of Posco International [POSCO HOLDINGS]

Posco International appointed Jeong Tak, the current president of Posco, as the new CEO.  
 
Jeong was also promoted to vice chairman, and the appointment will become effective on Jan. 2.  
 
The appointment comes as Posco International is set to merge with Posco Energy, which scheduled for Jan. 2. 
 
Jeong, who started working at the company in 1984, has spearheaded marketing efforts for various Posco companies. He started his career in Posco International and moved to Posco in 2013.
  
He served as president of Posco since March 2022.

“Based on his experience in Posco and Posco International, he will play a key role in stabilizing the company after the merger,” the company said in Tuesday’s statement.  
 
“Jeong will show his leadership in the eco-friendly energy market by strengthening the LNG value chain.”  
 
Posco Chemical named Kim Jun-hyung, the current CEO of SNNC, as the new head.  
 
Kim is an expert in the materials business, especially in the nickel sector. He previously served as the CEO of Posco ESM, helping the company expand its presence in the cathode materials industry.

Jeong Ki-seop, the current CEO of Posco Energy, has been appointed as the head of the business strategy team of Posco Holdings.  
 
Posco CEO Kim Hag-dong retained his seat. Posco explained that the decision was made recognizing his "hard work to restore the steelmaker’s Pohang steel mill in North Gyeongsang after it was flooded by Typhoon Hinnamnor" in September.  
 
The CEOs of Posco E&C, Posco ICT and Posco Flow were also allowed to maintain their positions.
