SM Entertainment’s supergroup GOT the beat will champion a message of environmental sustainability in its upcoming track “Alter Ego,” the agency said Friday.

“'Alter Ego’ is a dance track that sings about the severity of the environmental crisis,” the agency wrote. “Its lyrics are about how our choices and actions come back to us as consequences, and how we need to change in this reality.”

The track will be included in GOT the beat’s upcoming EP “Stamp On It,” set for release on Jan. 16 at 6 p.m.

GOT the beat is a female group comprised of seven members from each of SM’s leading girl groups — BoA, Taeyeon and Hyoyeon of Girls’ Generation, Seulgi and Wendy of Red Velvet and Karina and Winter of aespa. Upon its debut in January 2022, the supergroup was dubbed the “female avengers of K-pop.”

The group premiered the stage performance for its upcoming title track “Stamp On It” during SM Entertainment’s livestreamed concert “SMTown Live 2023 : SMCU Palace@Kwangya” on Jan. 1.
