A night-shift worker in his 60s was found dead at a Coupang logistics center in Incheon on his first day of work early Sunday.

At 5:13 a.m. Sunday, a 119 report was received from a Coupang logistics camp in Wonchang-dong in Seo District, Incheon, saying that a man had collapsed in a bathroom, according to the Incheon Western Police Precinct.

The man was in a state of cardiac arrest and was transferred to a nearby hospital after receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but eventually died.

The man, an employee of an affiliate company of Coupang, had been sorting parcels at the facility on the 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. shift.

This was his first time working at this location.

He was reported to have said to a superior that he would like to leave early because he was not feeling well.

He collapsed while taking a break in the bathroom and was found unconscious by a colleague.

The logistics camp is a base facility where products are gathered before delivery, and workers would load and unload parcels and sort them.

According to police officials, there was no suspicion of any foul play based on the man's movement through the CCTV at the facility.

Police said they will investigate the exact cause of death and request an autopsy of the body at the National Forensic Service.
