The Hwaseong IBK Altos beat Gimcheon Korea Expressway Corporation Hi-Pass 3-0 at Hwaseong Gymnasium on Tuesday to snap their four-game losing streak.

The Altos grabbed their first victory of the year after beating Hi-Pass, who sit at third on the seven-team table in the V League.

The Altos came out the gate strong, looking very different from the struggling team they have been in recent fixtures from the moment the game started. The Hwaseong side won the first set with a score of 25-12 and kept that momentum in the second for 25-23. They pulled off the third set as Daly Santana Morales scored multiple points through serves.

Hi-Pass, on the other hand, could not block the Altos’ attacks well and conceded a number of points due to their own errors during the third set.

In the end, the Altos took the victory as they finished the third set 25-17 and earned a much-needed three points.

Santana of the Altos was key to snapping the team’s losing streak as she recorded the most points in the match, at 23.

It was the perfect result for the Altos because they have been winless this year since losing in straight sets to league leaders Suwon Hyundai Engineering & Construction Hillstate on Jan. 1.

With the win over Hi-Pass, they now have 25 points and are one point behind Daejeon Korea Ginseng Corporation in sixth place on the table.

The Altos will face KGC this Sunday at Chungmu Gymnasium in Daejeon as they try to ride the momentum from Tuesday's win to take fifth place in the league.
