Mercedes-Benz introduced an all-electric EQS SUV for the Korean market Tuesday, the biggest and most luxurious electric vehicle (EV) from the German brand.

The vehicle is the first SUV to be developed based on the German carmaker's EVA2 modular platform.

The seven-seater SUV is 20 centimeters (7.8 inches) taller in height compared to the EQS sedan. The truck capacity has been expanded to 2,100 liters (555 gallons) when the third-row seats are folded down, which is enough to carry four sets of golf clubs, Benz said.

“The EQS SUV is the largest and most luxurious electric vehicle ever launched by Mercedes-Benz and delivers powerful and stable driving performance under all road conditions," said Johannes Schoen, vice president at Mercedes-Benz Korea. "It exemplifies the future of luxury vehicles that our customers have been looking for.”

The vehicle comes in two options in Korea: EQS 450 4matic and EQS 580 4matic, which are both equipped with 107.1-kilowatt-hour batteries. They can travel up to 459 kilometers (285 miles) per single charge, according to the Environment Ministry.

Using ultra-fast chargers, it takes 31 minutes to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent.

The EQS 580 4matic comes with 544 horsepower and 87.5 kilograms-meter of torque, the most advanced performance feature from any Mercedes vehicle excluding AMZ high-performance cars.

The sticker price starts from 152.7 million won ($124,170).
