Boy band Tomorrow X Together topped Oricon's weekly album chart with its latest EP "The Name Chapter: Temptation" on Tuesday. It marks the first time for a foreign artist to have seven albums consecutively reach the No. 1 spot on the chart.
The band previously topped the chart with “The Dream Chapter: Eternity” (2020), “minisode1: Blue Hour” (2020), “Still Dreaming” (2021), “Freeze” (2021), “Chaotic Wonderland” (2021) and “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child” (2022).
"The Name Chapter: Temptation" sold 184,971 copies in Japan on the day of its release on Friday, beating the band's own record of 179,421 copies which it achieved with its fourth EP "minisode 2: Thursday's Child" last year.
The EP also topped Japan's iTunes top albums chart while the music video for the lead track, "Sugar Rush Ride," became the No. 1 trending music video on YouTube in Japan.
“The Name Chapter: Temptation” sold a total of 1,868,919 copies on the day of release, making Tomorrow X Together the first boy band since BTS to sell over 1.8 million copies of an album on the day of its release.
"The Name Chapter" is a new album series which will start by telling the story of various temptations the members face during their journey of self-growth.
