A webtoon series behind the latest virtual girl group MAVE: will start next Monday on Kakao Webtoon and Kakao Page.

The series, the Korean title of which translates to “MAVE: Yet Another World,” revolves around the fictional background and universe of the virtual girl group MAVE:, and also provides a new storyline in the multiverse.

While MAVE:’s fictional storyline involved the four members of the virtual girl group, MARTY:, TYRA:, ZENA: and SIU:, crash-landing on four separate countries on planet Earth in 2022 in search of freedom of emotions, the four members in the webtoon will crash land in Korea and participate in a K-pop trainee audition. The webtoon will talk about the members becoming K-pop idols and fighters that transform the future, according to Kakao Entertainment.

Kakao Entertainment also plans to release the webtoon globally, starting in the United States, Canada, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan and more in the first half of this year. The official English title of the webtoon will also be revealed upon the global launch.

The virtual girl group’s music video for "Pandora" surpassed 10 million views on YouTube only two weeks after its release. The “Pandora” dance challenge, based on the song’s choreography, has also gained popularity on TikTok and YouTube after different K-pop group members have participated in the challenge.

Metaverse Entertainment, the agency behind MAVE:, is a subsidiary of the game publisher Netmarble, with 50 percent of the shares owned by Netmarble F&C, and 40 percent by Kakao Entertainment, the publisher of “MAVE: Yet Another World.” Founded in August 2021, the entertainment company specializes in metaverse-related businesses.
