The prosecution’s request for an arrest warrant for Democratic Party (DP) Chair Lee Jae-myung over suspicions of bribery and breach of trust was voted down in the National Assembly on Monday. But more than 30 votes by DP lawmakers who either supported his arrest or abstained from the voting rings alarms over the party head’s political future. After the request was voted down, Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon prepares to make another request for an arrest warrant for Lee soon. [PARK YONG-SEOK]
