BTS member Jungkook deleted his Instagram account with 50 million followers on Tuesday.

Jungkook wrote a series of short posts on Weverse, a social media platform made by HYBE for its artists and fans.

“I deactivated my Instagram [account], it’s not hacked,” the artist wrote on the same day.

“I just deleted it since I didn’t really use it… don’t worry!”

“I’ll just do Weverse Live every now and then,” he wrote in a follow-up post.

With more than 10,000 fan comments made under his Weverse post in under an hour, Jungkook finished with a final statement.

“I deleted the app straight away, and I don’t think I’ll do it in the future, either! Just telling you in advance!” he said.

Before he deactivated it, Jungkook’s Instagram account was the No. 2 most followed account by a Korean male artist, after V from the same group.
